our vineyards

Bob Oatley’s winemakers, lead by Chris Hancock and Senior Winemaker Larry Cherubino, craft modern, authentically Australian wines intentionally suited to the American palate – wines that people simply enjoy drinking.

Climatically, Australia's most reliable wine region, not to mention of its best known, Margaret River is the ideal home for Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc, producing distinctive wines of powerful structure and finesse.

Great Southern, Western Australia
Recognized by many as Australia’s newest high-quality Riesling region, Great Southern encompasses a spectrum of sub-districts that are delivering remarkably delicious and often ageworthy wines of tremendous success.

McLaren Vale, South Australia
We’ve been a fan of McLaren Vale Shiraz for many years now, yet have been keen to progress the traditional style, to wines with brighter fruit, less obvious alcohol and minimal reliance on oak. We’ve made a very accessible, well-loved style that’s a proven hit with fans of the varietal.

Mornington Peninsula, Victoria
Pinot Noir has found a natural home in the cool climate of the Mornington Peninsula, where an
enormous range of styles are grown. We prefer the lighter, varietally precise examples, particularly from vineyards in and around Red Hill.

Mudgee, New South Wales
The Oatley experience with the region dates back to the 1970s. Situated in the Central Ranges GI on the edge of the Blue Mountains, Mudgee is rich in alluvial soils and bright sunshine.  Chardonnay, Shiraz, Sangiovese and Merlot grow extremely well on these 2,000 ft. elevation vineyards.
